Our Story

On 28 September 2009, the Football Club Vändra Vaprus is founded.

The club is born from the collaboration between the borough of Vändra and Pärnu JK Vaprus, with the aim of developing local football and providing children, young people, and adults in Vändra with the opportunity to play football in their home area.

Youth work begins immediately after the club’s foundation, already in the final quarter of 2009. The first training sessions lay the foundation for ongoing youth development, which becomes one of the club’s most important directions.

The new Vändra stadium is completed.

In the same year, the football work done in Vändra receives nationwide attention. The magazine Jalka names JK Vändra Vaprus the club of the year and Vändra is recognised for its development work in Estonian football.

The first team finishes third in the Second League Southern/Western region.

The next significant step in the development of football in Vändra is taken with the completion of the new Vändra artificial turf stadium.

The stadium is established under the leadership of JK Vändra Vaprus in cooperation with the Green Riverland Cooperation Network, the borough of Vändra, Vändra parish, and the Estonian Football Association.

The new artificial turf pitch significantly improves local training conditions and makes it possible to offer quality football training for a longer period each year.

After seasons played in Esiliiga B, the first team has an excellent 2019.

Vändra Vaprus secures second place in Esiliiga B and earns the opportunity to return to the Esiliiga.

Striker Martin Pärn scores an impressive 37 league goals during the season.

Vändra’s football infrastructure once again receives high recognition.

In 2021, Vändra Stadium was chosen as the best grass stadium in Estonia.

Together with the best artificial turf stadium award received in 2018, this demonstrates the consistent work done in Vändra to create and maintain high-quality football pitches and playing conditions.
